Corrections Policy
When a fact changes, the article should change with it
PetJovial welcomes specific, source-backed correction requests. Insurance terms, insurer help pages, state rules and veterinary prices can change, so maintaining accuracy is an ongoing editorial responsibility.
How to request a correction
Send the exact page URL, identify the statement you believe is incorrect or outdated, and include the strongest available source. Official policy documents, insurer documentation, regulator sources and veterinary records or institutional sources are especially useful.
How we review it
- Locate the disputed statement and its current source.
- Check whether the disagreement is factual, state-specific, product-specific or interpretive.
- Review the strongest primary source available.
- Correct the article when the evidence supports a change.
- Re-check nearby claims that depended on the same fact.
Material vs minor changes
A material correction changes a fact that could affect a reader’s understanding or decision, such as a waiting period, limit, eligibility rule, exclusion or claims mechanic. Typographical fixes and stylistic edits normally do not require a correction note.
Verification dates
When a substantial factual review is completed, the page may receive a new “Last verified” date. We do not use a fresh date merely to make old content appear new.
